Concert 5: Mozart and Bruch: The Great Concertos

Saturday, June 6th 7:30 pm

Gunston Arts Center - Theater 1

Closing the season with both grandeur and intimacy, the National Chamber Ensemble presents two masterworks in a rare chamber setting that brings their emotional depth and structural brilliance into sharp focus. Pianist Carlos César Rodríguez lends dazzling elegance to Piano Concerto No. 21 "Elvira Madigan" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his most famous piano concerto, while Artistic Director Leo Sushansky performs the virtuosic Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor by Max Bruch in a reimagined, deeply personal interpretation.

The program also features Adoration by Florence Price and the lyrical Romance by Johan Svendsen. This season finale celebrates the genius of some of classical music’s most enduring voices while showcasing the interpretive depth and artistry of NCE’s distinguished musicians.

Location: 2700 S. Lang St., Arlington, VA
