Nicole Fang (cello)
2018 NCE Oustanding Young Artist Achievement Award Third Prize Winner, Nicole Fang is a ninth grade student in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Richard Montgomery High School. She began playing cello when she was eight years old. She is currently a student with Laurien Laufman. Nicole was a prizewinner in the Annual Joseph & Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition, the MSMTA Solo Bach and Solo String Competitions, the Rockville Competition for Piano and Strings, and the YMIC Metropolitan String Competition. In 2018, she performed with the Landon Symphonette at the Landon School as a finalist in the Young Artist’s String Competition. Nicole has been part of Maryland Classic Youth Orchestras for five years, performing as principal for the past three seasons. She is also part of Bellavoce, a piano trio. Aside from playing cello, Nicole is also passionate about ballet and painting.
