Brandon DuBrandon Du (violin)

NCE Outstanding Young Artist Achievement Award recipient  12 year old violinist Brandon Du has been studying violin with Mrs. Irina Briskin for 8 years. He is a 7th grader at Ellicott Mills Middle School in Howard County, Maryland. Currently he is the concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra (YO) of Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra (BSYO) and was the concertmaster of the Concert Orchestra (CO) of BSYO. Brandon was invited to perform Lalo Symphonie Espagnole with Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in the spring of 2015. He performed at Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage in December 2015 after he won the Asian American Music Society String Competition (Junior Division). Brandon Du was the first place winner of the BSYO CO concerto competition in 2014 and the BSYO YO concerto competition in 2015. He won the second prize in AFAF’s Romantic Music International Competition “Golden Era of Romantic Music” 2016 (Fall selection), received the Washington Performance Arts Scholarship award in the 45th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition, and the tutorial award in the 43th Annual Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition.
