Gray (violin)
2020 NCE Oustanding Young Artist Achievement Award First Prize Winner, Andrew Gray, age 17, is a student of Lya Stern and is currently the Concertmaster of the Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra at Strathmore. In a recent masterclass with David Kim, the concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the maestro observed:" There is nothing you can not do on the violin, Andrew". He has been a first place winner of several competitions including the Landon Symphonette Competition and the Gaithersburg Young Artist Competition. Andrew is also a talented composer studying with Jordan Chase at Levine School of Music. His recent works include a string quartet, a piano trio and an orchestral piece.
