Lilia LiLilia Li (violin)

First Prize NCE Outstanding Young Artist Award recipient, Lilia Li is a 9th grader at Dulaney High School. She began playing the violin at the age of 4 and currently studies under Amy Beth Horman. Lilia has been a member of the Baltimore Symphony Youth Orchestra for 5 years. She was the winner of the BSYO Concerto Competition in 2021 and again in 2023 where she performed 1st Movement of Mendelssohn Violin Concerto at the Joseph Meyerhoff Hall in Baltimore MD. Lilia has also won first place in the 47th Joseph & Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition in the Intermediate Category and first place in the 2019 YMIC International Competition. She has also participated in a masterclass by violinist Ray Chen and also in the Maryland All State Junior Orchestra in 2023 and 2024. In the summer of 2022 and 2023, she participated in the Sounding Point Academy at Colburn School of Music under the teaching of Simon James. This summer, Lilia participated at the Heifetz Institute Junior Division under the study of Francesca DePasquale. In her free time, Lilia loves to spend time with her friends, listen to bossa nova, R&B and travel
