Minjae Jeon (piano)
Second Prize 2025 NCE Outstanding Young Artist Award recipient, Minjae Jeon, 14, from Maryland, began her piano journey at age six. An Honors Program student at Levine Music, she has been studying with Dr. Jinha Park since 2022. She has received top prizes at numerous competitions, including the WMTA Modern Piano Music Celebration, Harold J. Protsman, Charleston International, OPUS State and National, American Masters Music Awards, and Amigdala International competitions. Most recently, she received first place and the Carnegie Hall Award at the Thomas F. Hulbert International Piano Competition.
In 2024, at the age of twelve, Minjae made her orchestral debut with the Accord Symphony Orchestra. In February 2025, she performed with the New England Youth Ensemble at the winners’ concert of the MSMTA Gertrude Brown Memorial Piano Concerto Competition. Later that year, in June, she appeared as a soloist at the MusicFest Perugia in Italy, performing with the festival orchestra under the baton of Marius Stravinsky.
Minjae is also an active student at Levine Music. A participant in the school’s merit programs—previously, Rising Stars, and now, Honors—she has placed numerous times in Levine’s competitions, including the Marlin-Engel Solo, the Ruth P. Cogen Concerto, and the Misbin Family Memorial Chamber Music Competitions.
Minjae has performed both as a soloist and as a member of the Harmonics ensemble at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Weill Recital Hall and the Kimmel Center. She has also attended the Summit Music Festival and the Colorado International Piano Academy & Festival as a scholarship student. She remains a dedicated performer and student, continuing to expand and develop her repertoire and artistic voice through a wide range of opportunities.
